Class A CDL Driver

Job Purpose Summary: Responsible for driving a tractor-trailer/straight truck in compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations as well as company policies and procedures to transport various materials in a safe and timely manner. Key Responsibilities: Responsible for proper loading and securing of freight to prevent movement and allow safe transport. Assis in loading and loading as required. Willing to load/unload and assist in operations at the terminal as required. Maintain accurate records and logs in accordance with DOT and company policy. Perform vehicle inspections and preventative maintenance before, during and after trips. Maneuver and control the vehicle in a safe fashion, which includes handling the vehicle on-site and in over-the-road situations, proper signaling, searching for hazards, controlling speed, lane positioning, matching speeds to road conditions (wet, dry, snow, or ice), and the ability to drive during the daytime or nighttime; Wiling to work stand by hours which include evening and weekends. Understand air brake systems if any vehicle is equipped with the system; Keeping the vehicles interior and exterior clean and in good condition. Perform all the above job functions in a safe manner to avoid personal injury and equipment damage Maintaining valid license and certification Notify the corporate office of any violations that he/she receives at time of employment within one business day.
